Where Innovation Meets Enterprise
Investigating New Opportunities for BME™
The Bronx-IMRE InnoVent is a joint venture between BRONX Material Reserach Centre and top research institution, A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR’s Materials Centre of Innovation (MCOI). With the support of The Agency for Science, Technology (ASTAR) which is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore, established in 1991 to foster scientific research and talent for a knowledge-based Singapore, the BRONX-IMRE InnoVent aimed to explore new opportunities for Bio-Morphologic Evolution Technology, BME™.
Several IMRE scientists developed material samples based on BME™ through the Bronx-IMRE InnoVent. With Bronx having a strong history and business providing BME™ products in the shoe and garment industries, the participating IMRE scientists investigated ways to provide additional and beneficial material properties to BME™ through modification, for BME™ to be use in alternative products and in alternative industries. Industries and areas that were targeted and thought to have potential for new business opportunities include garment, information technology, automotive, furniture, logistics and medical.
With the top research institutes’ expertise, BRONX Material Research Centre, A*STAR’s Materials Centre of Innovation (MCOI), Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), successfully re-analysed and modified existing BME™ for new product commercialization.
